A week passed by way too fast.
As each month reaches its twenties, I can already feel it’s almost over. Ever since I started making weekly plans and following through with my daily routines, life has become much more fulfilling. At the same time, it also seems to pass much faster.
Every week when I sit down to write this review, I witness with my own eyes how another week has quietly slipped away before I could hold onto it for just a little longer.
Week 25 has already passed. There are only 52 weeks in a year, and maybe only 50 more years for me to live on this earth. I hope I can learn to cherish my time even more than I do now. I want to experience this life as fully as I can.
I’ve realized I need to keep sharing my weekly highs and lows. It doesn’t feel like a mundane task anymore. Instead, it has become a small ritual—a way to say goodbye to the week that’s passed, and to the person I was during it.
Last week was amazing once again.
Ever since I started living more intentionally, my life has become genuinely happier. Nothing has changed dramatically except my mindset. I’m still doing the same job I’ve been doing, following the same daily routines as always, but somehow life feels completely different now.
For the first time in my life, I don’t think I need to be in a relationship to feel complete. I am fully content with my daily life. I’m not rich, and I still have struggles, but somehow, I am happy.
I don’t mind starting this week’s review with the low note.
The Morning I Didn’t Want to Repeat
One morning, I got up at 4 a.m. to watch Germany’s second World Cup game. They won, so that was great news.
But by the time the match ended, it was already 6 a.m. I should have gone out for my morning training. Watching the sunrise would have been amazing.
But, I went back to sleep.
I don’t know how long I slept that morning, but the entire time I felt trapped between reality and dreams. I couldn’t fully wake myself up, yet I wasn’t truly asleep either. I was stuck in that strange space between exhaustion and helplessness.
I used to experience this a lot. But ever since I started focusing on getting up early, it hadn’t happened for months.
Finally, around noon, I managed to drag myself out of bed. The feeling was horrible. I never want to trap myself in that half-awake, half-asleep state again. I hate that feeling.
Only then did I realize something. That same feeling had happened countless times throughout my life. Yet never once had I woken up and decided that I would never experience it again. I had been living in that miserable state for so many years without even realizing how miserable it actually was.
So many valuable years were wasted because of choices I made for myself. Looking back now, it feels heartbreaking.
That noon, I suddenly realized something simple: I could have chosen differently. I didn’t have to go back to sleep. I could have gotten up at 6 a.m. and started my day. Even if I felt sleepy later, it still would have been far better than putting my body and mind through that unbearable half-sleep torture. I can always choose how I live my life.
Only then did I realize how many poor choices I had made over the years. Those choices had quietly taken away so many moments of joy I could have experienced instead. It was a surprisingly thought-provoking low note.

Choosing Myself
Now it’s time for the high note.
I finally went for my weekly long run after missing an entire week because of constant thunderstorms and my lazy mood.
It happened to be the Dragon Boat Festival. My friends invited me to a gathering, but instead of socializing, I laced up my running shoes and headed to the park for my 10K run.
The weather was beautiful after weeks of rain. It was hot, but the evening breeze felt incredible.
When I started running, my legs felt heavy. I told myself that even finishing 5 kilometer would be a win. But around the 3-kilometer mark, my confidence and happiness boosted.
I finished the entire 5 kilometers along the shore, and on the way back, I could already feel that I was absolutely capable of finishing all 10 kilometers. And I did.
Yes, I missed the dinner party my friends were having. But when I got home, took a shower, and prepared myself a bunch of drinks, I didn’t feel like I had missed out on anything. On the contrary, I felt an incredible sense of achievement and peace.
My friends have been complaining that I don’t hang out as much as I used to. Sometimes it’s hard to explain. I’ve built so many daily routines that I genuinely don’t want to skip anymore. And honestly, going out just for food and fun doesn’t attract me as much as it used to. I know that probably hurts them, so I mostly keep it to myself.
I’m proud of myself for finally being able to choose what serves me best without feeling guilty or feeling like I’m missing out. I truly enjoy cherishing my own time and energy. And I love how peaceful my days have become. Thanks, life.
It was another wonderful week, experienced mostly in my own company. I’ll keep documenting my journey of living my best life, here and now.
Until next time~
