Week 29 of 2026: Learning to Trust Myself

Another week of constant rain. I found myself staying indoors more often than not.

People always say that you shouldn’t let the weather dominate your mood. But this time, I chose to surrender. Nothing feels better than immersing myself in a sweet dream on a rainy morning.

After such a long time of waking up at 5:30 a.m. every morning, I finally allowed myself to rest. During the past week, I canceled my morning alarm and woke up whenever my body naturally wanted to.

And surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I expected. I still went to bed around 10 p.m., so I naturally woke up around 8 a.m. every morning.

I remembered last year, when I thought my body had already adapted to waking up early after completing my 75 Hard challenge. I canceled my alarm, only to realize that old habits don’t disappear easily. I started waking up around 10 a.m. and going to bed after midnight. It felt like all the discipline I had built disappeared overnight.

But this time, things were different. Even without an alarm, I still managed to maintain a healthy bedtime and wake-up schedule. And honestly, I was pretty thrilled by this small but meaningful change.

The Freedom of Letting Go of Control

I believe not waking up at 5:30 a.m. every single day was the high note of my last week. By letting go of control, I discovered a stronger sense of self-awareness. I realized that discipline doesn’t always have to come from forcing myself. Sometimes, it comes from trusting myself.

I know that if I truly want to, I can completely change my habits and get myself back on track. I don’t have to constantly worry about losing control of my life. Because I have already proven to myself that even when I fall off track, I have the ability to find my way back. And that realization feels incredibly empowering.

A Small Struggle with Reading

After the high note, I want to share the low note.

Although the whole week was peaceful and enjoyable, if I had to choose one low point, it would be that I didn’t read as many books as I hoped. Currently, I am behind my monthly reading goal of finishing four books a month.

You know what? I even ordered five new books, even though I already have plenty of books waiting on my reading list.

I was so excited to receive the package. I placed them somewhere visible, hoping they would remind me to read. But somehow, I still didn’t read as much as usual. I think I spent too much time sleeping and watching TV.

The funny thing is that I wasn’t unhappy during those moments. I enjoyed resting. But a small part of me still felt frustrated because I knew there were things I wanted to do.

I hate having to drag myself out of an unproductive mode. It’s challenging when you don’t feel productive, but you know you want to become productive again.

Finding Balance Between Rest and Growth

Anyway, it was still a great week. A week filled with different emotional fluctuations and much-needed rest.

Maybe life is not always about pushing forward. Sometimes, it is also about knowing when to slow down and trusting that you will move again when the time is right.

I will try to get back to being more productive in the coming weeks. But for now, I am grateful for this slower rhythm.

Love life.
