I love how peaceful life can be, sitting out in nature by the water, reading in the sunshine, watching the light dancing and jumping through the pages. This is the kind of outdoor reading experience I’ve always wanted to have.
Nina already finished Wuthering Heights, and she told me she hated the whole cast of characters, yet she still finished it. I wonder why lmao. I’m only on chapter three or four. So far, I don’t really like the book. I read the Chinese version a long time ago, and I remember not being a big fan of the story either.
Nina has been reading reviews for the upcoming movie since it’s already showing in some European countries. Honestly, I don’t care that much whether the movie is good or bad, but I do want to finish the book. Not only is it Fallina’s first shared read, but it would also be a shared memory with my friend Nina. I kind of hope I can fall for at least one character. I guess that’s my bare minimum for deciding whether a book is worth reading.

Shared Pages, Shared Consistency
No matter what happens in the future, I think I’ll always remember Wuthering Heights as the first book I read with Secret Fallina Bookclub. That makes it a shared memory for our little outdoor reading adventures as well.
I love how we can just randomly chat, yet always return to the books we’ve read. It’s like sharing one friend’s story with another friend. Reading feels like building real, meaningful connections.
Despite her physical discomfort, Nina still showed up for our event. She said she didn’t want to give up on Fallina and wanted to stay consistent. I sometimes wonder why I value people who can maintain consistency so much. Maybe it’s because of all the books I’ve read, all the stories printed on paper. There’s something steady about them.
We read under the same tree for a solid hour. I would never have thought I could feel so comfortable with someone in complete silence, especially when we weren’t even reading the same book.
Afterward, Nina shared her book with me, and I shared mine. Casual, but inspiring as always.
Books, Music, and What’s Next
And yes, we still admire Kafka. I think I’ll get the book of Kafka Nina recommended today. I’m really happy about this Fallina event. I think Fallina might become the perfect reason to me some outdoor reading for at least once a week. And I even got to play my ukulele on the grass. That felt amazing.
Books, music, and maybe some love coming for Valentine’s Day.
Thanks, Nina. I’m glad we’re the founders of Fallina, and that we’re enjoying it first and foremost.
