Week 26 of 2025 | Life Is a Marathon

Thursday’s High: Rain, Rainbows, and Running

Last week’s high was on Thursday morning. I got up at 5:30 a.m. when my alarm went off, and later went for a 12 km run, as planned, to train for the marathon in August. It was one of those magical runs—I got caught in two summer rains and saw rainbows in between. That moment reminded me why I love running. It reminded me that life is a marathon, full of unexpected beauty if we just keep going. It was truly amazing.

Listening to My Body: Rest During My Period

In the following days, I got my period and have been resting for five days now. I still did some easy workouts and light walks, but I made a conscious decision: no running. I wanted to give my body the rest it needed.

I started to worry a bit about my period because it’s become shorter and lighter compared to years ago. I thought I could “beat” my body—get it used to doing sports even during those days. But lately, I’ve realized we don’t have to be Ironman. There are limits to the human body and mind. Going too extreme with anything can border on being… well, lunatic.

24/7 Productivity Doesn’t Exist

It’s perfectly okay to rest. It’s okay to feel a little low, a little off. Nobody can be productive every single day. What matters more is long-term growth, not short-term burnout. Life is a marathon, and we need to treat it that way—care for our body and mind instead of turning them into enemies. That’s the lesson I’m learning over and over again.

Social Media Motivation Is Too Much

I see so many energetic influencers on Instagram. Everyone looks pumped up, driven, thriving. But honestly, nobody talks about the quiet days, the exhausted days, the confused days. I agree that some people may maintain high energy by constantly pushing themselves, but let’s be real—nobody is motivated 24/7.

We need to look inward. Ask ourselves: where’s my edge today? How far can I go without hurting myself? And when do I need to pause? If life is a marathon, we can’t expect ourselves to sprint through every single day.

Challenges and Growth: You Are So Different

You probably know this about me already—I like challenges. I’ve written about them before. Weekly reviews, reading challenges, workout routines. I even completed the 75 Hard Challenge last year and documented it on my Instagram.

But here’s the truth: every day is different, and so is every body. What works for one person might not work for another. The real journey is learning about yourself. That’s the purpose behind all this self-tracking, reflecting, and experimenting. Not to become someone else, but to better understand you. Because in the end, life is a marathon, and the better you know your pace, the stronger your stride.

Don’t Forget the “Me” Inside

Sometimes we look outside too much—scrolling endlessly, comparing, trying to copy. But we forget the “me” inside our body. She might be screaming for rest. Screaming for a rainy day of no training. For slow mornings with a book in bed. Give her that!

Don’t punish yourself with too many motivation quotes or productivity hacks. If you’re showing up for yourself—even just by listening—you’re doing great. That’s more than enough.

My 3 Trinities: Books, Miles, and Matters of the Heart

Looking back at last week, I did well in my three core pillars: Books, Miles, and Matters of the Heart. These are the themes I’ve set as guideposts for organizing my life and creating small daily wins. They help me stay grounded.

However, ever since I started tracking my business resolutions more closely, I noticed something: I haven’t put enough effort into that area. My to-do lists tell the story. Too many boxes left unchecked. It could explain why the business hasn’t moved forward like I hoped.

Facing the Business Side of My Dreams

The truth is, I love my life. But I also know that earning more money equals more freedom. And that means I need to start taking my business more seriously. I’m incredibly proud of self-publishing my first book on Amazon—though I haven’t rated or reviewed it myself yet. That’s my next step: write a review, start promoting it, and hopefully gather some genuine reviews in return. It’s all part of my bigger goal: becoming a writer.

A Writer’s Dream

People often ask, “Do you like your job?” But honestly, I haven’t had a traditional job for a while now. Ever since I started working for myself, freelancing, I didn’t really feel like I was running a “real” business. I was just doing gigs.

That changed last July, when I officially registered my company. Since then, I’ve made a decision: take things seriously. I’ve tested different things. Most didn’t work. But I’m okay with that.

Looking back at my runner’s journey, I’ve learned that good changes take time to mature. And more and more, I’ve confirmed something important—I love creating great content. I love writing. So that’s my direction now.

It’s Okay To Be A Slow Runner

My business goal is simple for now: stay consistent, do the right things, and don’t be afraid to fail. Life is a marathon—I remind myself again. Not everything needs to happen fast. Not everything needs to be forced.

See you next week.
