Last week was well-spent. I think I need some extra self-motivation since the weather has been so creepy and rainy for days. But ever since I started doing a weekly reflection, I can clearly see that the good days outnumber the bad ones.
These reflections help me notice the small wins that keep life moving forward, even when the weather or mood isn’t ideal.
Building Atomic Habits
I added more atomic habits into my daily plan. Since I really want to sing English songs, I practiced singing for 10 minutes during lunch break. I also added a 10-minute meditation session each day. They may seem small, but these small wins are much better than wasting time on endless scrolling.
Another small win: my typing practice. I’ve noticed fewer mistakes and faster speed. By setting aside 15 minutes a day, I can clearly see my progress. These little moments matter more than I expected.
Life could feel stale if you live it the same way every day, but lately, I’ve had tiny sparks of inspiration. I experiment with new ideas—not every day, but often enough. If a scientist were tracking my happiness, I bet the curve would trend upward. Having this sense of control feels like freedom.

The Three Trinities of My Life
1. Books
This part of my weekly reflection has been great. By waking up at 5:30 a.m., I finish 30 minutes of nonfiction reading before most people are even awake. That’s a small win I’m proud of.
I’ve also kept up with journaling daily—even on those days when I wondered if there was anything worth documenting. I still talked to my Shepherd (my diary) anyway.
2. Miles
After finishing that tough 35km training run the week before, I eased down. I only did three easy runs: 6km, 8km, and 15km. Most of the weekend was spent relaxing and sleeping.
Now, the marathon is coming next weekend. I feel fully prepared, and honestly, finishing the training cycle itself is already a small win. But who knows? Back in January, after my first full marathon, I told myself it would be my last. Yet here I am again. I guess people can’t stop challenging themselves.
Good luck to me in the Hokkaido Marathon 2025!
3. Matters of the Heart
All these atomic habits belong here. They matter to my small heart, like rituals I give myself every day. They don’t take much effort, but they keep me going. Every meditation, every song practice, every typed line—they’re all small wins that add up.
Wrapping Up
That’s my weekly reflection for Week 33. How was your weekend? How was your week? I hope you had your own small wins too.
See you next week. As always, follow me to share life and inspirations.
