Cutting off daily meaningless chats with distant contacts on the phone can be a very effective way to focus on work and other life priorities. However, it can also lead to feelings of loneliness from time to time. Yet, being alone won’t harm us. All we need to do is embrace solitude for personal growth.
As you may have noticed, I began aligning my plans with my New Year’s resolutions in the middle of February this year. My aim is to live each day to the fullest and stay committed to my goals beyond just the initial excitement of the new year.
Now, as I delve into Week 15 of 2024, let me share a recap of this week, following my new year resolution ideas through the 3 trinity in my life, which I’ve named “Books, Miles & Matters of the Heart”. This week, I embraced solitude for personal growth, prioritizing early sleep and immersing myself in a countryside routine, which involves going to bed early and rising early.

I. Books
- Reading: Achieved my goal of reading for 2 hours per day, totaling 10 hours of productive reading.Bravo!
- Online Learning: Completed 4 out of 5 lessons on SEO from HubSpot Academy according to this week’s plan. Not bad.
II. Miles:
- Running: Completed 2 runs, covering a total distance of 10 kilometers as planed.
- Biking: Went biking twice, covering 20 kilometers and 10 kilometers respectively.
- Power Training: Dedicated time to power training on 3 separate occasions.
III. Matters of the Heart:
- Writing: Maintained a daily writing habit, producing an average of 1000 words per workday.
- Blog Update: Published 3 blog posts, reflecting on various aspects of life on my website Fallsshu.com.
- Chinese Post: Completed 1 out of 2 planned Chinese posts on my official account. To keep the updates on track, I need to start capturing more of life’s moments and write them down.
- Singing Practice: Committed to practicing singing 5 times during the week.

Biking with My Brother | Best Memory for 32
One standout moment of the week was going biking with my brother. It was a rare occasion for us to spend time together without any distractions, especially since he became a father. Reflecting on our childhood memories, I realized how much we’ve grown and changed over the years. Despite his initial reluctance to join me due to his busy schedule, he eventually agreed. My brother has always been a sweet little boy to me, and his selflessness and willingness to make me happy are constant reminders of the goodness within him. It’s a trait I deeply admire and cherish.
As we biked together, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of joy seeing him enjoy himself despite his exhaustion. It made me appreciate the simplicity of shared experiences and the bonds that hold us together. While we may have different paths in life, it’s moments like these that remind us of the importance of connection and companionship.
Looking ahead, I recognize the value of living each week to its fullest, building upon past experiences and embracing new challenges. Life may be uncertain, but it’s the journey that matters most. As I continue to document my thoughts and experiences, I find solace in the realization that I am already living my best life. Here’s to the beauty of life’s journey and the endless possibilities it holds. Cheers to another week filled with growth, fulfillment, and gratitude!
