Week 30 of 2026: Choosing to Live on My Own Terms

I managed to catch up on all the weekly reviews from the past few weeks. Sometimes, it’s discouraging to think that not many people are actually reading my blog. But documenting each week has become a meaningful personal ritual for me.

Every Monday or Tuesday, I sit at my desk with a pen and paper, writing about the week that just passed. Somehow, it feels like I’m enriching those moments by revisiting them, giving them a second life.

Back to My Routine

I had been pretty lazy and unproductive for the previous two weeks. But once the World Cup ended on Monday, I no longer had an excuse to stay in bed every morning. I gradually found my way back to waking up at 5:30 a.m. and sticking to my daily routines.

I officially gave up on my second 75 Hard challenge this year. I had already failed a couple of times along the way, and deep down, I could tell that I was resisting it myself. So I decided to ease up a little and simply focus on waking up early and doing as much as I could each day. Almost immediately, life felt lighter—and, at the same time, much more enjoyable.

I still love challenges, but I’ve realized I’d rather listen to myself more. I want to live in a way that both my body and mind are excited about, instead of forcing myself to complete challenges just because they seem impressive. And honestly, I feel good about that.

A Celebration on My Own Terms

Last Thursday marked the second anniversary of my digital marketing studio.

Originally, I planned to throw a party with friends to celebrate. But as the day got closer, I realized I’d rather celebrate it on my own terms than surround myself with a crowd. So I did. That became the highlight of my week. The realization that I can actually choose how I experience my own life—without worrying whether society or other people might be disappointed—felt incredibly liberating.

I bought myself a cake. The funny part was that I ordered an ice cream cake but completely forgot to put it in the freezer. By the time I opened the fridge that night, it had already melted.

I probably should have felt frustrated, but I wasn’t. I laughed, scooped the melted cake into a cup, and lit the candle anyway.

Nothing about that day was perfect. Yet somehow, it became the perfect second anniversary for my little studio.

Trusting My Own Path

Throughout the journey of building my own business, I often thought that if I could just find the right business partner, everything would become easier. If I had more clients, I’d be happier. I kept pushing myself to build connections, even though I knew I didn’t really enjoy networking.

Then one day, I realized something. I’m not broken. For the past two years, I’ve been building this business almost entirely on my own terms, and I’ve been just fine. So do I really need someone else to support me? Do I really need more clients to feel fulfilled? Or would I be completely fine simply following my heart and spending more time doing the things I genuinely enjoy?

Like the melted ice cream cake. Like the little solo celebration. Just me, with myself. Maybe we don’t always need a backup plan! Maybe we just need enough courage to keep dreaming and enough faith to believe that things will somehow work out the way they’re meant to. The thought of that made me feel incredibly blessed.

Letting Go

If there was a low point last week, it was probably about people.

There was someone I used to think I liked. But when we met again after quite a while, that initial excitement was simply gone. I don’t know. I just couldn’t pretend anymore. It’s a strange feeling—to let go of yet another person and suddenly realize there’s no one you particularly like anymore.

I’m not afraid of being on my own. But sometimes I still long for genuine intimacy and real human connection. That part frustrates me a little.

Still, it felt so good to return to my routines and become productive again. July is almost over. I don’t have much time to waste. I’ll keep loving this life, with all its joys, sorrows, and growing pains intertwined.

Learning to be comfortable with yourself is a journey, and books have always been one of my favorite companions along the way. If you’re also exploring self-love, personal growth, and self-discovery, I’ve put together a collection of books that have inspired me and helped me better understand myself.
